To be honest, the thought of a triathlon geared towards children was a little shocking to me at first. I don't think I would have the strength to participate in one, and I couldn't imagine my kids completing one either. Then, I was approached to participate in this awesome incentive called the Tri-Fun Kids race and I was floored to see how awesome and well-organized this event was planned. Tri-Fun Kids is non-competitive, with motivational support and overall a great day for the whole family to enjoy.

For a family such as ours, this is a perfect way to spend a Saturday or Sunday outdoors, while enjoying each-others company and having FUN!

Remember that short word..

FUN....

Bring it back with this fantastic event!

The objective of the Tri-FUN event series is to provide a supportive, family environment that celebrates individual achievement through the great sport of triathlon and it is a motivating way for kids to get fit, have fun and gain confidence. Participation in sports also provides physical, mental and emotional benefits that can support children through improved cognitive function for better learning, improved physical literacy, and the ability to lead healthy lives with a sense of social well-being. Come join the FUN!

McHappy Day

When I was 16 I took on a job at my local Mc Donald's and it was the experience of a lifetime.

I know, its hard to believe that a fast-food joint could ever make an impact on a teenagers teen years, but it did. Working there was about experience, attitude and determination. Mc Donalds really makes sure their employees feel secure, comfortable, involved in charity and education. The main thing I remember about my experience there was  the constant coming together for group meetings and huddles focused on improvement and charity work.  I really felt like I was part of a family. Mc Donalds takes care of their staff as well as the organizations they create and follow. After, 4 long years spent learning and engaging in Mc Happy Day, I can sincerely say that this is a day of celebration and charity for a great purpose.

Mc Happy day is a day whereby all Mc Donald's chain stores donate $1 from every Big Mac Sandwich, Happy Meal and hot Mc Cafe Beverage to local children's charities such as Ronald Mc Donald House. As a parent today, I could't think of any better way than to spend a day of fun, activities (varies by location) and purpose.

...and indulge in a bit of 'yumminess' while you're at it ;) See you there!

Did you know?McDonald’s Canada covers all of RMHC Canada’s administrative and operating costs, making it possible for 100 per cent of every directly donated dollar to go to Ronald McDonald Houses and their programs. For more information on RMHC Canada, visit: www.rmhc.ca

In addition to supporting McHappy Day in-restaurant and online, Canadians can also show their support by texting MCHAPPY to 30333 to make a $5 donation** to RMHC.
