I often find him spending a lot of money on 'organic' produce at the grocery store and checking the labels on fruits and veggies when I shop. He's an Organic Eating Machine! lol So, when I was presented with the opportunity to review Organic Food Delivery I jumped at the chance...who wouldn't want free, healthy food delivered right to your door to 'review' right?

To get the full customer experience I decided to go through all the steps that a regular customer (such as yourself) would take. I logged onto www.organicfooddelivery.com, created a profile and chose a box type that would suit my family. I chose the $39 box because it seemed to have a perfect balance of fruits and veggies for my family of 4. Next, I followed the user friendly list to check off the items I wanted to see in my weekly shipment and chose a delivery time. Simple as that, within minutes I was on my way to receiving a shipment of organic goodies for my family. I really loved that you can pick and chose the contents in your own box, unlike some other delivery services.

There are a few things to note about this company though, I priced out the shipment received and I have to say that in comparison to an almost exact shopping list of organic produce with the same items the cost was identical. Keep in mind that Organic Food Delivery offers FREE delivery too (bonus) and all items were delivered on time, with emphasis on freshness. I used this system for 2 consecutive weeks, ordering a few different items both weeks and was equally satisfied. I also love that they offer other Organic products that you can add to your weekly shopping box like baked goods, children's foods, crackers and snacks etc.

Bottom line is that Organic Food is more costly than alternative food, and is often hard to find in your local grocery store. Variety is often scarce and picked over and freshness is not always guaranteed. Organic Food Delivery solves these problems with the click of a mouse! PLUS if you are dissatisfied with any item they will replace it with something else of equal value on your next order. Great service!

I have spoken before about the ISeeMe Book series and as you already know, I am in love with them! These books are personal, creative, individual and fun for kids and adults of all ages. I recently received the 'Super Incredible Big Brother' book for review, and I was thrilled to see that it comes with a badge/reward for the older child who receives it. This book is perfect for that little munchkin who is awaiting a new sibling, I wish I would have had it when my youngest was born because my oldest son would have loved parading around in his special award and telling everyone about the book that was written just for him. Nonetheless, he still wore the medal to school the very next day and fully enjoyed reading his little brother the story that was written just for them.

This book is a staple to anyone's library. So much fun for the whole family to enjoy and a great gift for anyone expecting their second child too! I also love that you can add on items to complete your gift from the ISeeMe store. For example, with this book they offer coordinating place-mats too! Other gifts include plush animals, sweatshirts, and gift boxes and colouring books! So fun! What child wouldn't want to see their name everywhere?
I look forward to adding more of these books to our collection because the truth is, my kids love seeing their name in the books and I think it is a great motivational tool to get them reading! As a parent, I really enjoy having a personalized piece that I can hold onto for years to come too!

<![CDATA[Strider Bike Review: The Rock Star of Training Bikes!]]>Thu, 04 Apr 2013 15:01:14 GMThttp://lil-sugar.ca/5/post/2013/04/strider-bike-review-the-rock-star-of-training-bikes.html
What is a Strider Bike and why is it different from any other bike? These were all the questions I had when introduced to this innovative balance bike. First off, my youngest has never taken to bikes in general easily, he is now 4 hand still has not even pedalled a tricycle properly. That's why the Strider Bike was my last alternative at having my child enjoy the upcoming summer and attempting to keep up with his older brother....

Strider Bikes are quite simply, bikes that have NO pedals. They are made for balance and co-ordination in its simplest form--a true rock star with talent ;) At first, my son was very skeptical to go on this bike alone without our assistance. Once he felt the lightweight body of the Strider Bike, he quickly glided with ease. It has been a few days since Neigh's first attempt at the Strider, and I am happy to note that he is confident walking with this bike with ease. He is thrilled that he 'looks' like a big boy and can keep up with his older brother without the fear of tipping over or using a tricycle like a 'baby.'

I also have to note that my older son who is 6, has taken to this bike easily. Since he is already a pro at his training wheeled bike, he has now used the Strider with ease. He runs with it, and rests his feet on the side panels to balance on 2 wheels effectively. I really think the Strider Bike will ease his transition to a 2 wheeler in no time. This bike is cool, fun and in my opinion a must-have for any child learning to ride a bike. I have even heard of some 2 year olds riding a 2 wheeler because of their training with the Strider! AMAZING!

<![CDATA[Stonz Rain Boots: My Son's Favourite Boot!]]>Wed, 03 Apr 2013 13:36:04 GMThttp://lil-sugar.ca/5/post/2013/04/stonz-rain-boots-my-sonsfavouriteboot.html
Judging by the pose of my little Neigh, you can clearly see that he LOVES his Stonz Rainboots! These adorable little boots come in 4 stylish colours and can be layered with Stonz' Rain Boot Linerz to keep tiny feet cozy! They are 100% Natural Rubberin too, so that means leeks will never happen!

  • 100% Natural Rubber
  • Durable and tear resistant, yet flexible and comfortable
  • Quick dry 100% cotton liner
  • PVC-free
  • Phthalate-free

The one thing I absolutely loved about these boots was the height of the shaft. My youngest is a little on the huskier side and it has been impossible to find him proper rain boots that fit! These boots are perfect for wide-calf's and tall enough to get through even the muddiest puddle! Little Neigh will not take them off! He even wants to wear them in the house, so they must be comfy too!
Boots retail for $35.99 CAD and liners (for warmth) are $18.99 CAD to buy at stonzwear.com They also have the sweetest hats and mitts too, not to mention their baby booties are ADORABLE!

A must-have for all children!

Last week we had the chance to see Disney on Ice's Rockin Ever After with friends....boy were the kids excited! This show was phenomenal The lights, the music, the sets, everything a little person could ask for!!

Not to mention, it was equally entertaining for the older kids (like myself) too! Well worth our 2 ours spent watching the show...where else would you get your children to sit for 2 whole hours?

My youngest son, LOVES Beauty and the beast and went totally ballistic when he saw Bell appear on stage. The realistic costumes and magic of Disney was really captured in this show! My only regret is not having a better camera to capture the amazing colours and effects. That, and a little more money to buy all the Ice cones so that we could collect ALL the wonderful Disney cups that they sell at the concessions (so lovely).

Overall, a fantastic show that the whole family can enjoy! We loved Disney on Ice and we look forward to attending so many more of these shows! I really don't think you ever outgrow the magic of Disney! If you get a chance, I highly recommend taking your children...you won't be sorry you did.

<![CDATA[Mom's and Kisses Healing Spray Review]]>Wed, 20 Feb 2013 14:19:09 GMThttp://lil-sugar.ca/5/post/2013/02/moms-and-kisses-healing-spray-review.html
How often do your little ones bump, bang or scream from bruised limbs? Mine are almost always covered in bumps and bruises! The reality is, with active kids, bruises are a guarantee!

I was excited to learn that there is a product on the market for kids who bruise easily! Mom's and Kisses is a non-toxic, drug free alternative to ibuprofen and acetaminophen for pain & anti-inflammation. PLUS it does not have the same side effects that pharmaceuticals have – not toxic for our liver, kidneys or intestines.

A drug free way to help your kids bodies heal itself resulting from injury or trauma, The arnica used in the manufacturing Mom's and Kisses is proven to help relieve pain resulting from inflammation.

I have used my sample for quite sometime now, and I have to say that it definitely makes healing time a lot faster. As a bonus, my kiddos love the 'spray' aspect of it. We call it 'Magic Kisses' in our house! This is a new addition to our first-aid package, we just love it! Perfect for emergencies while on the go!

Mom’s Kisses website has an online store for purchasing.

Disclosure: I recieved a sample of Mom's and Kisses for review purposes. All opinions are my own.

<![CDATA[Slugs & Snails Review - Tights Your Boy Will Want to Wear!]]>Mon, 11 Feb 2013 16:09:44 GMThttp://lil-sugar.ca/5/post/2013/02/slugs-snails-review-tights-your-boy-will-want-to-wear.html
Have you heard of Slugs&Snails? A retailer of boys tights....yes, you heard me, BOY'S tights!!

Having 2 boys of my own I wondered if this review would go over well, simply because of the fact that they probably wouldn't want to wear tights!! Boy was I WRONG!! As soon as the package arrived, my boys quickly took interest in these inventive fashion accessories. They were more than willing to try them on for size...but would they actually 'wear' them?

After trying on these super-stretchy and soft tights, there was no taking them off!! My 2 boys wore them that night to bed, and my oldest (6) even asked to wear them under his uniform the next day at school! 2 weeks later, we are still loving our tights!

Here are a few reason's why a mother would want 'boy tights'; they are warm, super comfy, and the socks are attached! I remember when my children were crawling and I often wished their socks would stay put. Snugs&Snails have solved this problem hands down! PLUS, if your children are anything like my little fashionistas they will find new comfort in this new fashion accessory!

I know what you are going to say...which 'boy' would actually wear these in public right?

Take it from me, I really think more boys would if given the chance. If not as a piece of clothing, but definitely as long-johns under their clothing, or as a pyjama for bedtime.

Think Kingston and Zuma Rossdale --cool right?

Slugs & Snails combines retro with metro in a wide range of patterns and styles. They also have an adorable leaf embroidered on the outside back panel which looks fab on chunky nappy bums! The anti-slip soles on all products is genius too!

With five new designs from ages 0-4 there is plenty to choose from with bright colours and eye catching designs right on trend and uber funky for bright boys and girls.
These are the adorable tights I chose for my boys, next I will order the skulls and crossbones! Just love how convenient they are when packing or simply throwing them in your diaper bag for 'extra' messes!

Disclosure: I was proveded 2 pairs of Slugs & Snails tights for review. All opinions are my own.

My Happy and excited little munchkins!
On December 29th we had the pleasure of attending Disney on Ice World of Fantasy at the Rogers Centre for Performing Arts, Toronto. Let me start off by saying, the kids were SO excited for this! My children have never become 'attached' to any characters....with the exception of ANY Disney princess on the market! I guess it is just the simple 'magic' of Disney that wins every time.

We started off the day with Disney 'dress up' - don't you just love the adorable hats I scored at Walmart and the hand-made tees courtesy of 'mommy' aka ME!! Yes, I did it! I made not 1 but, 2 t-shirts!! Not bad for my first try right?

Toy Story: The little/big green army
Picture
Cars came in with a bang! What a great opener!

The show was phenomenal, it kept my kids entertained for the ENTIRE duration and through every scene! Music, lights, rain and a snippets from the actual movies all made the show interactive and fun! One of our fave scenes was from Toy Story, where all the toys really came to life! The green army of men were seemed larger-than life and small at the same time due to a gigantic set of bedroom furniture! Every kids dream!
Picture
The Micky Mouse crew had us all laughing!
I can't wait to bring the kids back to see another Disney performance! This was truly the perfect day. What a great way to start our winter holidays!

Have you ever seen a Disney performance, or better yet, have you been to Disney World?

Disclosure: I was provided a family-set of 4 tickets to see Disney on Ice Worlds of Fantasy at the Sony Centre for Performing Arts from Feld Entertainment in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

<![CDATA[Snazzits Review and Giveaway!]]>Tue, 18 Dec 2012 15:04:38 GMThttp://lil-sugar.ca/5/post/2012/12/snazzits-review-and-giveaway.html Picture
Snazzits are a great way to get your little fashionista excited about getting dressed! If you have kids like I do, it is often hard to keep their attention long enough to make any piece of clothing 'fun.' Snazzits do just that, they make getting dressed fun, and ever changing!

Their product line ranges from adorable Tutu's, head bands and hats for girls, to hats and various 'Snazzits' varieties for boys. But what is a 'Snazzit'? It is a cover that stretches right over any button on a child's clothing! Genius right? GeEach Snazzit costs $1.50 and they can be interchanged to create a whole spectrum of ideas. My boys LOVE their Snazzits to wear on their uniform shirts, my eldest refers them to the 'coolest thing ever.' I predict that this will become the next rage at his school, because uniforms just aren't fun without them!

Currently, there are 15 available Snazzits as pictured on the left of this paragraph.

The Tutu combinations are just lovely! I received the one pictured above,, and just fell in love with all the detail! The sequence, the ribbons and bows...oh my!! Any little girl will feel like a princess in one of these, that's for sure!! Each one of a kid tutu, headband and bow is interchangeable with any Snazzit too, imagine the possibilities....

If you don't believe me, just ask the celebrities!
Snazzits will be attending the Pre Golden Globe Awards Celebrity Boom Boom Room
in LA on January 11th and 12th!!

<![CDATA[Getting Organized With Martha Stewart and Staples!]]>Tue, 11 Dec 2012 03:27:53 GMThttp://lil-sugar.ca/5/post/2012/12/getting-organized-with-martha-stewart-and-staples.html
If anyone knows me, they know I LOVE organizing. I am not always the most organized person, but I really love to see things in their place and that sense of organized accomplishment that comes with it is priceless. When I was asked to check out the Martha Stewart Avery Line by Staples, I was thrilled (and a little curious). Every time I hear the name 'Martha Stewart' a sense of clam comes over me, and I am in awe of how wonderful, and clean her overall brand has become. I don't know what it is about the Martha Stewart brand, but in my mind, I feel like she has the answer to all my problems! lol Probably because it is a direct opposite reflection of my own frantic life!
This is what came in the beautiful basket. Everything to make a small home office organized in minutes....literally! So many 'goodies' inside, binders, page protectors, paper, file folders, labels, desktop organizers, and even a Staples Easy Button to name a few. Everything was crisp white in color and 'Tiffany' blue....sigh....perfect as expected!
Immediately I got to work...below you will find the 'before photo and the various configurations that I came up with after. The helpful thing about these organizers is that they all fit into one another, so you can stack and personalize your space any way you want.
One thing I really love doing is 'personalizing' and libelling everything...you can ask my son's teacher, its ridiculous! With the Martha Stewart Avery line, all labels can be printed straight of of your home computer! The instructions are simple, and straightforward. For the purpose of this post, i chose to hand write my labels and they still look fab, don't they? I really loved the silver plated accessories for binders, no hardware needed, simply peel and stick! Another fave is the white-board, it can be used anywhere...even your refrigerator!!
I really wish I could have gone into detail about ALL the amazing products in this line, but I would probably be here forever! Here is my MOST favourite item in the box....would you believe it is paper? Not just any paper, this is in my opinion the best thing ever invented....paper with a perforated column for notes on the go!! I make lists for just about everything, and now my life has just gotten easier with this simple product.
All of the products pictured here, and soooo many more can be found at Staples. They are affordable, functional and worth the low-price of organization...you will thank me later ;)

For product information, pricing and descriptions visit: Staples

Disclosure: I was given the products pictured above from Staples Canada in exchange for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own. The Martha Stewart Home Office with Avery product line is exclusive to Staples.ca
