A naughty word has risen for breast cancer awareness in Ontario and all over Canada! The bracelets are part of a youth-geared campaign from the Keep a Breast Foundation meant to raise awareness for breast cancer. The simple rubber bracelets come in a variety of colors and sport the wording "I Love Boobies" bracelets have a very large goal, to raise awareness for breast-cancer, but school boards are saying they are inappropriate.
Educators are saying the word 'boobies' is the inappropriate part of the jewelry. Making children want to wear it just because it is on edge of the system. Isn't it true that today's kids use words a lot stronger than boobies while in school, the playground and even sometimes at home?
The strategy is simple--if the school board ignored the usage of this word then children would no longer think it was inappropriate and either stop wearing them or simply love the fact that they are raising awareness for a greater cause- CANCER.
Do you think the school did the right thing? Or did they miss a great opportunity to educate students?
I LOVE BOOBIES Bracelets can be found in mall kiosks across Canada.
