Trevor MacDonald is a Transgender father who has decided breastfeed his child. Recently he has been making headlines because of his letter that was denied to become a La Leche League leader. The 18 year old policy states that a leader must be a mother who breastfeeds rather than a father. The question is whether LLLC should change its policies after years to accommodate todays changing society and the families in it.

"Since an LLLC leader is a mother who breastfed a baby, a man cannot become an LLLC leader."   


Born a woman, he has been taking hormone treatments and has had chest surgery to make him more masculine in appearance 4 years ago.  When deciding to birth a child he stopped treatments completely. Trevor writes a blog called The Milk Junkies and is an active member of the transgender community. What's interesting is that he gives credit to LLLC for assistance in helping him nurse his child when he had some complications.

The famous Bumbo Seat has been recalled!!

The Bumbo® Baby Seats were sold in the Canada by retailers including Toys"R"Us, Babies"R"Us, and various other toy and children’s stores nationwide, and various online sellers. The seats were sold in various colors from August 2003 through August 2012.

The product subject to the recall can be identified in several ways:

-On the front of the seat in raised lettering is the word "Bumbo" with the image of an elephant on top.
-The bottom of the seat has the following words: "Manufactured by Bumbo South Africa Material: Polyurethane World Patent No. PCT: ZA/1999/00030." The back of the seat has several warnings, and seats manufactured since 2008 also have warnings on the front of the seat against use on raised surfaces.

Several milk products manufactured at an Ottawa plant were recalled on Friday. Agropur Division Natrel apologized to their customers after voluntarily withdrawing several products.

"These products don't meet our quality standards, but are unlikely to cause an undesirable health effect,” a release read.
The products recalled are from plant number 1490 in Ottawa and were distributed in Ontario and the Outaouais region.The Sealtest Milk recall includes the following products:

• Skim 1 litre carton.
• Skim 4 litre bags.
• 1% 1 litre carton.
• 1% 4 litre bags.
• Homo 1 litre carton.
• Homo 4 litre bags.

The Macs Milk products being voluntarily recalled include:

• Skim 2 litre jug.
• 1% 1 litre jug.
• 1% 2 litre jug.
• Homo 2 litre jug.
